Thank you for participating in this survey on occupational health hazards in the plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying trades in New Zealand.
We want to learn about your experiences with the following tasks — all of which can expose you to hazardous dust, fumes, and chemical vapours — and the control measures and protective equipment you currently use for them:
- Brazing
- Using solvent cement (pipe glues)
- Mixing, cutting or grinding cement-based materials
- Heating pipe joints
- Using expanding foams
We know you may not perform all these tasks as part of your work, but for those that you do, your knowledge and experience will help us develop practical health and safety guidance for plumbers, gasfitters, and drainlayers in New Zealand.

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
