Nominate your local heroes

Waitemata Local Board is calling for nominations for its first ever community awards, which will celebrate individuals and groups whose voluntary efforts make the Waitemata area a great place to live.

There are three award catagories, these include:

1. Individual Award
2. Youth Award (for individuals aged 24 and under)
3. Community Group Award

The nominations can be drawn from but are not restricted to the following sectors:

1. Arts, culture and heritage
2. Education (including adult, tertiary and community)
3. Environment and beautification
4. Social and community (including health and social service)
5. Sport, fitness and leisure
6. Faith-based institutions running programmes for the benefit of the wider community
