Have your say on the Recovery Budget

This Recovery Budget consultation is on one of the most important budgets in Auckland's history.  It responds to major community concerns as well as making prudent financial decisions while still providing those key services to Aucklanders. Now is the time to learn more about what is being proposed and to have input on the final decisions.

Ōrākei Local Board is seeking input from the community via a range of events and community drop-in sessions, you'll find more information on events here  This consultation is open until 22 March.  For more information and to provide feedback online visit the website here

Round table opportunity

Join local board members and ward councillors to discuss regional and local Long Term Plan consultation topics.  You'll have the opportunity to provide feedback and discuss in detail.  All welcome.  Hyundai Marine Centre, The Landing, Tamaki Drive. Tuesday 4 March 5:30-7pm. More here

Local input vital

Ōrākei Ward Councillor Desley Simpson is encouraging the community to get involved in the Recovery Budget Consultation and is especially interested in feedback on water quality funding options and a longterm view on budget spend.  Read Councillor Simpsons full media statement here

Local water quality meeting

Waitematā and Ōrākei Local Boards are hosting a public meeting to inform the community about a proposed extension and increase of the Water Quality Targeted Rate. All are welcome. Sunday 7 March 2-3:30pm, Parnell District School.  More here

Despite being at Alert Level 1 the risk of COVID remains very real, now is not a time to become complacent in our use of the covid tracking app or location registrations.  Remember to stay home if you are sick, get tested and keep up-to-date on all government advice here:  covid.govt.nz 

Get Out & About

We are proud to support Out & About Auckland to provide free local activities in our community.  There are quite a number of small pop-up type events being held throughout summer so keep an eye on event listings on our Facebook page.

Local grants opportunity

If your project, initiative or event fits with the local board priorities then you could be eligable for a Local Board Grant of $3,000 - $10,000.  Aapplications open until 2 April, so start talking to your team and apply for this opportunity now.  More information here

March business meeting
