On Tuesday 28 April we move from Level 4 to Level 3. At Asteron Life, that means very little change. We all continue to work from home and our claims, underwriting and operational services remain as they were in Level 4.

To further support Asteron Life customers who may be experiencing financial impacts as a result of Covid-19 we are extending the relief options available, initially for period of 3 months to 31 July 2020 at which time they will be reviewed.

Relief options now available for more customers

While Premium Holiday or Premium & Cover suspension benefits are built-in to Asteron Life products, we have now extended these offerings across more of our products.

It is now possible to apply for a Premium Holiday benefit for Business Insurance and Smart Business lump sum covers, with a three-month holiday limit. During the premium holiday, the customer’s cover remains active and claims can still be made.

It is also now possible to apply for a Premium & Cover suspension benefit on all disability covers. With this benefit, the cover is suspended, and claims cannot be made. It allows the customer to reinstate all benefits of the cover within a 12-month period. All standard Premium & Cover suspension reinstatement terms apply, including that no benefit will be payable for any claim affected by any sickness or injury (including signs or symptoms) experienced at the time the cover is reinstated.

 

The ability to use a premium relief benefit again

To make sure we are able to offer continued support to customers who are in need, including those customers who may have accessed a premium relief prior to the emergence of the Covid-19 situation, we will be allowing customers who have previously used their premium relief benefits to apply for one additional Covid-19 specific use. Any second use of a Premium Holiday benefit will be limited to a maximum of three months.
