COVID message

The threat of COVID to the community and of possible lockdowns are a constant unknown.  We encourage every person in our community to use the COVID tracking app, or register everywhere you go.  Keep up to date on all government advice here: covid19.govt.nz

Opera in the Park

We are proud to support the Auckland Council Music in Parks programme, presenting an evening of classical opera by the Zealand Opera Company.  Glover Park, St Heliers, Saturday 30 January 2021, 5-8pm.   More information here

Noise complaint campaign

The Mission Bay community is being encouraged to report excessive noise so that Council and Police can build a clear picture of noise issues with the aim of finding a long-term solution.  More information, including what you can do to help here 

Waitangi Day 2021

Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei hosts Waitangi Day at Okahu Bay, where the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi will be celebrated through live music, kai, arts and crafts.  All are welcome.  Saturday 6 February, from 9.45am, Okahu Bay, Tamaki Drive.

Changes to fares

As of 7 February 2021 fares for public transport in Auckland will change, this includes ferries, buses and trains and off peak fares becoming permanent.  Find out all the details here

10-year Plan

Grant opportunity

Local Board Grants of $3,000 - $10,000 will open for public applications between 15 February until 2 April, so start planning to apply for this opportunity now.  More information including funding criteria can be found here

Regional grant opportunity

The Creative Communities Scheme enables communities to bring art (in its various forms) into everyday lives of Aucklanders.  Applications are open until 14 February so get online now.  More information here

Public business meeting

The first Orakei Local Board business meeting for 2021 will be held at the St Chads Church and Community Centre, in Meadowbank from 3pm.  All are welcome.  Agenda and minutes can be found here
