The days are getting longer which means more pressure to get jobs done with the extra daylight. At this time of year it can be difficult to balance the to-do list with your own health and safety, and as a result we often see a spike in work-related incidents.
Many industries rely on workers being physically and mentally alert. Fatigue is a state of physical and/or mental exhaustion which reduces a person’s ability to perform work safely and effectively.

Reducing work-related ill health is a priority for WorkSafe. Each year, we receive around 900 notifications about health conditions that are related to work. A specialist team reviews these notifications and may follow up if the situation warrants further action.
If you have a concern about an unsafe or unhealthy work situation, you can raise a health or safety concern with us.
