Emergency Budget views sought

The impact of COVID-19 means we need to make decisions for our recovery. Have your say on the Emergency Budget here. There is a webinar for the south on 14 June from 5-6.30pm  but you must register two days before here.

Councillor needs you

Residents need to help set a solid foundation for their local communities by making their voices heard on Auckland Council’s Emergency Budget, Manurewa-Papakura ward Councillor Angela Dalton says. Details here.

Matariki Festival is on

Aucklanders will celebrate a re-sized Matariki Festival. It starts on 20 June with the winter solstice and ends on 15 July as the Matariki star cluster rises above the horizon in the pre-dawn sky, ushering in the Māori New Year. Details are here.

Water restrictions in place

Auckland is still experiencing one of its most prolonged dry periods and water restrictions remain in place. While the weekend rain was welcome, it did little to lift the levels of our water supply damns. There are more details here.

Facilities reopening

Auckland Council buildings and facilities continue to reopen. But there is another step needed to use libraries, youth centres, swimming pools and other venues. You will need to register for contact tracing purposes. Details here.

Public transport cheaper

Auckland Transport is discounting fares to encourage travel. Throughout June a 30 per cent discount on AT HOP rates for adults travelling on weekdays after 9am and before 3pm, and after 6.30pm, applies. There are more details here.
