Change to the Vero Marine website
In order to provide a more seamless online experience for our customers, the Vero Marine website, together with the Vero CIS one, have been incorporated, into one website for Vero New Zealand. Also as part of our Vision to be the number one choice for New Zealanders, our Vero website has been upgraded to Adobe Experience Manager, a market leading web platform.
You will notice straight away that the site looks very different from the old Vero Marine one. We want to ‘make insurance mean more’ for customers and this is a theme that runs through the new website. Navigation is more intuitive and tools such as the broker and adviser locator have been updated to include details of our approved repairers.
The previous content from the Vero Marine website has been updated and can be found in the Business pages, with information about Pleasurecraft and Household Goods Removals in the Personal pages, and Marine claims in the Claims pages, including our new-look Claims Agent directory.
If you have page or PDF links saved to your favourites, there is no need to update them as they will automatically re-direct to the right place on the new site. However, you might like to update your favourites to re-save them for the new website.
If you find that a page doesn’t go to the information you want to find, please refer to the most commonly used links below to find what you are looking for, alternatively, please email us:

Electronic Delivery of Documentation
We’ve been around for over 25 years and whilst we have continued to keep our content up with the times, we’re a bit behind with our documentation delivery method. So we’ve listened to your requests to provide our marine documentation in an electronic format and have undertaken a project to do just that with our current renewal and policy documentation.
Not only are we changing the delivery method of our documents, we’ve also reviewed the processes behind the production of the documentation with the aim of getting documentation to you more quickly.
Changes will be rolled out over the next few months. The first of these will take place on Wednesday 15 March, so keep an eye on your inbox for when the majority of our May renewal notices will be sent directly to the handling broker via email. This change will ensure that you receive your notices just minutes after our system has generated them.
We already have the functionality to send debtor statements electronically. If you are still receiving these via post and you'd prefer to receive them electronically, please email us at accounts@veromarine.co.nz.
Staff Changes at Vero Marine
There have been some recent staff changes in the Vero Marine team. At the end of 2016, we said farewell to Lindsay Ross wishing him a very happy and well deserved retirement. Opportunities were created within the Auckland Underwriting team, allowing Kerry Walker to move into the team from her previous role as Marine Claims Manager. In addition, Graeme Gordon was promoted to the team as an Underwriting Assistant. Daiana Ermel transferred from the Underwriting team to boost our Auckland-based Customer Service team, which was further strengthened when we welcomed Katrina Mankin and Kurt Leopard to Vero Marine.
Following Kerry’s move across to underwriting, Bernard McMahon now manages the Marine Claims team. In addition we are looking to recruit a Senior Marine Claims specialist to join Laura Giles, Flora Chen, Stuart Weir and Linh Nguyen (who transferred late last year from our Customer Service team) as a replacement for Kerry Walker. This week we also welcome Fraser White to the Marine Claims team. Fraser has previous experience with boatbuilding, so we are sure he will fit in well.

Language of the British Merchant Seaman
Another sea-faring expression from the book 'All Hands and the Cook' by Captain Barry Thompson:
Chundering along at eight knots and an onion
The onion was a fraction of a knot. The expression conveys a vision of an old tramp ship sqeezing every last ounce of steam out of her boilers to make the best speed possible which, in this case, only just exceeded eight knots.
