Monster grants round in Manurewa

A sewing workshop at Retima House was just one of 30 community projects supported under the Manurewa Local Board grants round.

Arts, sports, community, cultural and ethnic organisations have all been supported with Manurewa Local Board grant funding.

Board chair Joseph Allan says it was a large round because funds previously allocated to projects that could not go ahead during the pandemic were returned, allowing more money than usual to be distributed.

“The quality of the applications was excellent, making it a privilege to support so many people. It shows how great the Manurewa community and the people who make it up are.”

Funding was widespread, reaching across the board area and community, supporting all age groups, a variety of sports, playcentres, different cultures and abilities.
