• Auckland Council Contributions Policy 2015 Variation A

The Contributions Policy Variation A sets out the capital projects the council will fund from development contributions for each activity in the LTP. It also explains how much each different type of development will be charged and what the cost of providing each of these activities will be for different geographic (funding) areas. The proposed changes will provide a stronger local connection between the collection and spending of development contributions. This will be achieved by increasing the number of funding areas for stormwater and parks to better reflect the different infrastructure investment required in different parts of the region.

We are seeking your feedback on proposed changes as follows:

36 stormwater funding areas (up from 22)

26 parks (reserve acquisition, development, community infrastructure) funding areas (up from 4)

Minor definition changes and amendments required due to the classification of new funding areas and growth model.

The consultation period is open from 1 April 2016 to 21 April 2016. Consultation is targeted to the development community although open to the general public.

The financial policy team will analyse all feedback received in order to report on the key themes and recommendations to the Finance and Performance Committee meeting in June 2016. The Committee will use this report to determine whether or not to make the suggested variations to the Contributions Policy 2015. A copy of the feedback report and the decision will be made available to the public on Shape Auckland by 30 June 2016.
