New Website Launched

After weeks of development and loading content, we have finally launched the new website with loads of information for both new and existing bowlers. 

Obviously there will be a few days of futher updating and fixing minor errors and links, so if you come accross a function or link that doesnt work, feel free to let us know, and we will get onto fixing it up. 

We hope you enjoy the new layout, and would love to hear your feedback on what we've done.

Wgtn Rep Trials

The WCBA anounced the final plans for this years trials, which are to be held at Strike Porirua for the selection of players who will be representing the region in next years National Teams Championships (NTC), which also planned to be held at Strike Porirua at easter weekend.

The trial plans includes formats, trial dates, patterns and what selectors will be looking for in the teams for next years competition. 

On top of this, there is a chance that Wellington may end up with a 3rd team, which will be decided by TBNZ later in the year. This depends on the number of teams and players from other regions, however is looking like it may be used as a development squad during this period.

Snow Bowling

Obviously with all the snow that has hit the Wellington region over the past 2 days, there has been a few disruptions to leagues at both Strike centres. 

This has included lots of absent players, power spikes causing issues with machinery and scoring, and some leagues being cancelled all together. 

In the case of the McDonalds Business House, and Wellington City Singles both played at Porirua, players have until the end of the week to complete a "Post Bowl" which will mean that results wont be confirmed until Monday next week. 

The All Stars League, as well as Hutt Valley Special Olympians were cancelled for Tuesday night, and will re-commence next week. 

Both Strike centres have closed early this week, ensuring that customers and staff can get home safe, so lets hope that the weather improves, and we dont have to take up Snow Bowling in our back yards.

2011 Strike Championships

As you will be aware, the Strike Championships Doubles is just around the corner, and is being hosted at Strike Lower Hutt on 9th, 10th and 11th September. 

There is only 3 squads (1 per day) so make sure you get in quick for your pick of the squads. 

Remember, if you were one of the 80 odd who bowled in the Strike Chmps Singles at Porirua, you will want to bowl in both the Doubles and the Teams to have a chance at qualifying at the Masters.
