Annual Budget 2017-2018
Consultation is now open

We are working on our budget for 2017/2018 and between Monday 27 February and Monday 27 March you can provide your input. The key topics are:

  • Options for rates rises
  • Whether accommodation providers should pay a targeted rate, that we spend on attracting more visitors and supporting major events
  • Whether new large-scale developments should pay a targeted rate that contributes towards major new infrastructure
  • A living wage for council staff

Once your feedback has been reviewed elected members will finalise the budget in June 2017.

To view all topics and have your say visit shapeauckland.co.nz from Monday 27 February.

Have Your Say stall

What are Have Your Say events?

They are an opportunity for the public and organisations to be heard by elected members, face to face. We first ran Have Your Say events as part of the 10-year budget (LTP) consultation in early 2015.

What you need to know:

  • There’s no need to register or pre-book; you can just turn up – but tell us if you require an NZSL interpreter, email us
  • There’s no need to make a submission ahead of the event
  • Subject Matter Experts are available to answer questions at some events
  • Elected Members will be present at many events; their role is to listen to the conversation.

There are two styles for the HYS events:

Meetings: these sessions begin at a set time, there will be a presentation, followed by a facilitated conversation. Note-takers will capture feedback.

Drop-in: you can come along at any time during these sessions to find out more about the Annual Budget, ask questions and give feedback.

We will also be at existing community events throughout March, so come and find our stall, and give us your views. See ShapeAuckland to find your nearest event.
