New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and Sky have agreed a revolutionary new broadcast deal that will see Sky deepen its investment in all levels of rugby and NZR become a shareholder in Sky.

NZR and Sky announced the new broadcast agreement which extends Sky’s existing SANZAAR broadcast rights to 2025. 

The five-year agreement includes:

•    The rights to broadcast rugby in New Zealand from 2021 to 2025
•    A record investment in New Zealand and SANZAAR rugby
•    New Zealand Rugby becoming a 5% shareholder in Sky 

The broadcast rights include exclusive coverage of all Investec Rugby Championship, Steinlager Series, Investec Super Rugby, Mitre 10 Cup and all New Zealand’s other domestic competitions, including women’s competitions like the Farah Palmer Cup.

Sky extends international cricket deal for four more years

Sky has extended its exclusive broadcast deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to deliver key international cricket events to Kiwi sport fans for the next four years.

The deal extends until the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India and includes both men’s and women’s ICC Tournaments.

Silver Ferns - Constellation Cup

The World Champion Silver Ferns have backed up their World Cup win over Australia with a very close 53-52 win in the first of four matches for the Constellation Cup. 200,000 people watched Sky Sport and Prime’s coverage* of the first Constellation Cup game (AP5+)

With such a close game and three more matches left in the series, 16, 20 and 27th of October, fans will be on the edge of their seats to see if the Silver Ferns can come away with the win.

New Season Starts October 18

A massive new season for the Sky Sport NZ Breakers starts this Friday. Fans are keen to know how players like Ater Majok and Chris Obekpa (pictured) as well as teenage sensation RJ Hampton are going to perform.
